Minutes of the Old Lyme Economic Development Commission of the Meeting of 5/4/16
Meeting commenced at 8 AM in the Old Lyme Town Hall. Present were Bob Jose, John Stratton, Howard Margules, Bill O’Meara and Susan Howard.
We discussed the following topics:
1. Approved and accepted the prior month’s minutes.
2. Real estate news from Susan showed for the first 4 months of this year 160 units for sale with 32 under contract and 31 closed. Statistics were fairly similar to last year and both closed and under contract has increased by 10 in 1 month.
3. No new updates on the fate of the OL farmers’ market. Howard reported that Mary Stone is still attempting to find a solution to keeping it going and Ash Lawn Farms remains open.
4. Discussed possibilities for new chair at EDC without resolution.
5. Continued discussion on the economic drivers for Old Lyme with ideas from all.
6. John suggested having mr. stroud come and speak to the EDC about the latest train developments.
7. Meeting adjourned at 9:00 AM.
